Participating companies have complete discretion as to whether to update their stewardship policy. Just notify us and send us through relevant documents at stewardshipcode@cgs.or.kr or +82-2-6951-3902 if the stewardship policy or any other internal policies such as conflicts of interest policy and proxy guidelines are newly created or updated.

If you wish to cancel the adoption of the Korea Stewardship Code, please send us a note at
stewardshipcode@cgs.or.kr or +82-2-6951-3902.

Any institutional investors from Korea and abroad can participate in the Korea Stewardship Code if they hold the shares of a company listed in Korea.

It means that a foreign institutional investor can also participate in the Code regardless of its nationality or the country of incorporation if it invests in listed companies in Korea. An institutional investor managing an overseas portfolio only is not targeted by the Code ‘explicitly,' but it can still join the Code ‘at its discretion.’

As for private equity funds, limited partners can participate in the Code under the asset owner category and general partners as an asset manager. Discretionary investment businesses are also a targeted participant of the Code even though voting rights cannot be delegated to them as per the applicable law (Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act). They can still discharge their fiduciary duties via other forms of shareholder activities.
